January 10th was my January weekend pass in the army. I can leave my unit once a month. It was the weekend pass.
I had three appointments and had to go back and forth between Gyerong and Seoul by train. I arrived at Yongsan around 9:30. I met my girlfriend and went to a restaurant and a cafe one after another at Chungmuro.
There was no problem by then. The next appointment was my college senior, Giyeon Sin's wedding ceremony. I met and greeted some colleage acquaintances whom I hadn't been met for a long time.
The first thing that made me hectic was that I couldn't wait until the end of the wedding ceremony because I had to get to the next meeting in Gangnam by 3 pm(The wedding ceremony was started at 1:20, and it takes about 50 minutes to get from the hall to Gangnam).
In light of that, I couldn't be taken a picture with the groom, though. It was disappointing. I could eat only a single dish at the buffet and rushed to Gangnam. I couldn't even greet the groom. It was a shame.
Anyway, I managed to arrive at Gangnam without being late. The next appointment was having a deep chat with the maintainer of an opensource project I'm contributing to, Sungyu Gang.
We had a lot of intriguing and fascinating conversations on a variety of topics such as developments, developers, React Native and so on with a grab of beer and Korean whiskey with premium beef (He treated me XD).
I was surprised by how quickly I could talk. Rapping about topics, I wished that I could talk in English as fluent as that.
I was so motivated, and it boosted my self-esteem in development. It seems that was a result of both: he acknowledged my career and I could felt my intrinsic passion for development as much as before.
After the meeting, I had to return to Yongsan station to get on the train to Gyerong. Unfortunately, what I missed was that It was a snowy day.
As a result, transferring between subway lines wasn't smooth, and I got stuck at the previous station, Noryangjin. My train was supposed to depart at 18:10, and I arrived at Yongsan at 18:13.
There wasn't the train which can bring me to Gyerong without being late anymore. I was really terrified, and my heart started racing.
In Noryangjin, I was almost typing a long apologize and help message to my superior. It was like "Are you having a comfort weekend? I'm really sorry about....".
Fortunately, thanks to god, by rushing, I could catch the train. It turned out that the train was also delayed due to snow by about five minutes.
So, I'm in the barrack securely without any problem.
This is today's story. There were a lot of things to be tankful for. I felt that a positive attitude matters in any circumstance. That attitude I've learned from some books was really helpful, and saved my life.
