What have I done in May

Back to what I loved.

So well, it's already June 4th. As far as I know, this is the fifth or sixth posting of the "What Have I Done" series.

As always, I stuck to my English routines. I've written some posts about games. I admitted that I was obsessed with gaming in the previous month.

But it doesn't mean I did nothing for development or studying. I want to say I can't justify the fact that I was involved in gaming so much, though I've been trying to keep up with the latest dev news.

In May, I honed my skills in Rust. I also polished my C++ series and did dogfood.

Honestly, I lost my mojo recently. The works of other people felt fancier than mine and demotivated me. I felt like I didn't have anything to do.

Even though I've been following high-end AI technologies and harness engineering stuff, it feels like there's got to be a cooler way I don't know all the time.

I've had a lot on my plate lately, and I wouldn't be able to find enough time to have a helpful reflection by myself. So this vicious cycle devastated my motivation and left me feeling a bit down.

But yesterday, I decided to keep progressing with my latest works again.

I've already been noticing that there is no amazing product created in an instant.

From time to time, I looked up the commit history of some up-and-coming projects, and I could spot the step-by-step progress of their work, which explains how they built their work from scratch.

I'm not afraid of the evolution of AI essentially. I'm fearful of losing the joyful moments during coding myself. On the bright side, I'm still not worried about myself. I'm still one of those who frantically reach for the rational reason of how projects look like.

Why have I studied Rust? Did I consider it something which could ensure my career? Well, I concluded it's from my autotelic instinct. I've loved this feeling of autotelic studies. I just know all these studies are going to pay off.

I can't wait until the time when I enjoy my works as much as before in more comfortable settings like my living room alone.

I will wrap up this posting. It's about time I got put in charge of my joyful projects again.
