Nowadays, a lot of AI agents have been released. I've picked up some of them and used them for my personal side projects.
The final candidates are Opencode with Oh-My-Opencode and Codex from OpenAI. They are both robust and skillful agents which can help me write code that aligns with my intentions.
I hadn't made up my mind until yesterday. Finally, I chose Codex. I'd rather play with faster development experience with an agent and Codex was much faster than Opencode was.
Fundamentally, Opencode is kind of a Multi-agent utility, which explains why it should be slower than other agents which utilize only one agent. Multi-agent assistance has definitely its props, but it wasn't for me.
The more I used Opencode, the slower it got. I couldn't help but use Codex in time-sensitive workflows like simple modifications. Opencode's tendency to overthink kept me feeling upset sometimes.
